Custom Design Services – Terms & conditions

Welcome to Aussie Opals! We’re thrilled to have you here and want to ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience. By purchasing from us, you’re agreeing to the following terms and conditions, so please have a read-through. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out—we’re always happy to help!

1. Service Overview

Aussie Opals offers bespoke jewellery design services, creating unique pieces in collaboration with our clients. Each design is handcrafted, and due to the natural character of opals and other gemstones, variations in colour, size, and appearance will occur.

2. Design Consultation

  • Designs are developed based on customer input, sketches, and/or reference ideas.
  • Any changes requested after approval may incur additional charges.
  • Once the final design is approved, production will begin.

3. Deposits & Payments

  • non-refundable deposit of 50% of the quoted price is required to begin work.
  • The balance must be paid in full prior to shipping or collection.
  • All prices are listed in AUD unless otherwise specified.

4. Timeline

  • Standard custom design orders take 4–8 weeks depending on complexity and material availability.
  • Rush orders may be available at an additional fee.

5. Customer-Supplied Stones

  • We may work with customer-supplied stones or metals at our discretion.
  • Aussie Opals is not liable for damage, loss, or flaws in customer-supplied materials. Work is undertaken at the customer’s own risk.

6. Approvals & Revisions

  • Customers will be given opportunities to approve design sketches or prototypes.
  • Once approval is given, no major changes can be made without additional costs.

7. Returns & Refunds

  • As all custom designs are made-to-order and unique, they are non-refundable.
  • If there is a workmanship issue (not including stone flaws, natural inclusions, or misuse), repairs will be offered within 30 days of delivery at no charge.

8. Shipping & Insurance

  • Shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
  • Aussie Opals is not responsible for loss or damage once the item is shipped. Customers are encouraged to request insured shipping.

9. Care Instructions

  • Custom opal jewellery should be handled with care, kept away from harsh chemicals, and stored separately to avoid damage.
  • We are not responsible for damage caused by improper care or wear.

10. Intellectual Property

  • All design concepts, sketches, and artwork created by Aussie Opals remain our intellectual property, unless otherwise agreed.
  • Customers may not reproduce or resell our designs without written consent.

11. Agreement

By commissioning a custom design with Aussie Opals, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
